Thank you for making a difference!

Good for our community

When you shop and donate at Goodwill, you help neighbors with disabilities and other barriers to housing and employment so that they can live, work and thrive in South Central Wisconsin.

The revenue that we generate from our 13 area thrift stores stays right here in South Central Wisconsin and is reinvested directly into our community to fund housing and employment programs for people with disabilities and other barriers.

We are honored to assist many neighbors across our 14-county region every year in gaining job and life skills, finding employment, filing taxes and living in a safe, stable apartment or group home. Your purchases and donations help to drive our local impact – THANK YOU!

Rounding up your purchases helps create even greater impact!

Good for our environment

By donating and shopping at our local thrift stores, you are making a sustainable choice. Secondhand items are given another chance to be enjoyed while staying out of the landfill.  Every year, we keep over 15 million pounds of clothing and household items out of the landfill in our 14-county region through responsible recycling and materials management.

Good for our participants

Our mission comes to life every day with our dedicated team helping people in our community to live, work, and thrive through housing, employment, and supportive services. Neighbors like Teresa find joy, connection and belonging at work through our employment programs, while community members like Donald benefit from safe, stable housing through our residential services.

Impact Stories

Our deepest purpose is to help people in our community experience the good that life can offer. We are honored to support so many amazing individuals in overcoming barriers to housing and work through our community programs and supportive services – their outcomes and success stories represent our mission in action.

Jethro was living in an abandoned vehicle before moving into safe and stable housing at a Goodwill group home. With support from our residential staff, he gained confidence and skills to live independently. Today, Jethro enjoys living at one of our subsidized apartment units – he takes pride in furnishing his home and being a good neighbor.

Sedona began her journey with Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin after high school. With support from Goodwill job coaches and staff, she has gained skills and confidence to work and thrive at her local employer. Her mother says, “I ask Sedona almost daily what made her happy today. And few things make me smile more than hearing her reply ‘I did a really good job at my job today, Mom!’ She is so proud to be able to navigate the nuances of her job with tutelage from her Goodwill case manager and the rest of the amazing team.”

Wesley was the very first tenant in our subsidized apartment complex on Madison’s east side. For more than a decade, he has been able to experience stability and connection with his neighbors through affordable housing. He enjoys his life at home and thrives with a sense of community.

Brittany has worked at Edgewood College since 2013. Outgoing and cheerful, she approaches every day at work with a smile. As a dishwasher, she is an important part of the foodservice team and loves the camaraderie with her coworkers.

Thank you for being part of the GOOD!
