As we celebrate a season of thanks, of peace and of hope, we also recognize that there are many, many people in our community who are facing challenges. It’s an ideal time to make a positive impact in the lives of area individuals with disabilities or other challenges by making a financial or material donation to Goodwill.
Your donations mean:
- Local individuals with significant disabilities have an opportunity to work in the community
- Low-income senior citizens and people with chronic mental illness have a place to call home
- Area residents in need are able to acquire basic necessities
- Others in South Central Wisconsin who are facing challenges receive a “hand up,” not a “hand out”
Financial gifts can be made online, at any of our stores, or via a check made payable to Goodwill and mailed to 1302 Mendota St., Madison, WI 53714. Material donations can be dropped off at any of our 10 donation centers. We regret that there are some items we cannot accept as donations.
If you itemize your tax deductions, you can deduct your financial donations and/or the value of your donated materials. To deduct your donations on your 2016 tax return, donations must be made on or before Dec. 31. Goodwill International offers a Valuation Guide to assist you in this process. For detailed information, please consult your accountant, attorney or an IRS office.
